Michael George Goodenow, 64, of Mackinaw City passed away on Thursday, December 01, 2022 at his home. He was born October 31, 1958, the son of George and Gloria (Hayes) Goodenow in Frankfort, Michigan.
Michael grew up on Airforce bases all over the world, including Empire, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, and Germany. After moving back to Mackinaw City in 1972, Mike attended and graduated from Mackinaw City High School in 1977. After graduation, Mike moved to Houston for a while before moving back to Mackinaw City and working at Big Stone Bay Fishery for the past 30 years.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved living in Northern Michigan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow mobiling, and taking walks through the wilderness. He was also a very active member of the American Legion in Mackinaw City.
Mike is survived by his two sisters, Terry (Rob) Meister and Janice Goodenow, three nieces, Jodi Closser, Samantha Cooley, and Chloe Cooley, a grandniece, Jaylin Closser, a grandnephew, Jorden Closser, an aunt, Dawn Edwards, and many cousins and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Goodenow.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be announced at a later date.
