Nancy “Nanny” Elizabeth Dunckel passed away on October 30th surrounded by friends and family while being read a story by her Jaeda Bug.
During her life our beloved Matriarch wore many hats. Nancy was known to many by her yogi alter ego Indigo Blue Moon and continued her practice weekly. She retired from Petoskey Foot Specialists after being the Practice Manager for 30+ years. During her younger years, she was a beloved bus driver for Williamston Public Schools and students still reach out to this day with fond memories.
Nanny is survived and deeply missed by her family:
Two children - Laurie Nemchak and Richard(Christy) Dunckel.
Five grandchildren - Chelsea(Brian), Tayler(Cleveron), Brooke, Parker, and Madison(Cory)
Six great-grandchildren - Jaeda, Wyatt, Everleigh, Oakleigh, Caleb, and Caitlin
Her Best Friend - Dawn Whiteside whose bravery allowed some of her family a chance to say goodbye.
Nancy’s extended family is large in number, while our word count is limited, her love for you all knew no such limit.
She will always be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, best exemplified by her favorite poem always bringing a smile to the faces of her loved ones.
Tulips in the garden.
Tulips in the park.
The tulips I like best,
Are two lips in the dark.
It was Nanny’s wish to not have a funeral. There will be many celebrations of life announced at a later date.
