Nancy Mier Obituary

Nancy Ann Mier, 92, of Mackinaw City, Michigan, was born on June 8, 1933, the cherished daughter of Charles and Christina Warner. She passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy grew up in Mackinaw City and attended Catholic School in Flint. She went on to spend many years as a nurse at Mackinac Straits, caring for her community with the same warmth and steady kindness she brought to everyone she met.

On May 12, 1956, Nancy was married to her forever love, Earl Mier, beginning a partnership that would shape the rest of her life.

Nancy was a proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, a lifetime member of the Mackinaw City Women's Club, the Saint Anthony Council of Catholic Women, and the Mackinaw Area Historical Society. Her faith was the heart of who she was, and she shared it generously through years of teaching CCD classes and first communion instruction.

She was a loving Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma, a friend to many, and she cherished her friends and family above all else. Spending time with her grandchildren made her the happiest, and the love she poured into her family will be carried on for generations to come.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Christina Warner, and by her beloved husband, Earl Mier, who passed in 2011.

She is survived by her children Robert (Stassi) Mier, Jane Mier (Tom), Matt (Laurie) Mier, and Jeanne (Mark) Gwilt, along with 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Mackinaw City.
