Nancy May Weinert, 87 of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away on April 26, 2025, at the Villa at the Bay nursing home.
Daughter of Lillian (Wilhelm) and Frank Wadge, Nancy was born on June 26, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up in Detroit and attended school at Cass Technical High School where she graduated with honors.
On September 14, 1957, she married Willard Weinert in Detroit, Michigan at St. Paul Methodist Church.
After moving to Petoskey in 1972, they became faithful members of Edgewater Bible Church until its closing, and then Oden Community Church. While in Petoskey, Nancy worked as mother, housewife, Christian school secretary at Burt Lake, and day care babysitter.
She enjoyed traveling. Notable were her many trips to Brazil, South America; and out west to visit family.
Nancy was a member of the Oden Community Church where her husband Willard was a board member, and sometimes visited services at Victory Baptist Church in Levering, Michigan on Sunday evenings.
Nancy is survived by her sons Paul Weinert and Mark (Lisa) Weinert; grandchildren Nicole (Nathan) Pitchford, Noeli (Dave) Mueller, and Mark Weinert, Jr.; great-grandson Mishael Pitchford; and sister Arlene Wadge.
She is preceded in death by her husband Willard Weinert; parents Lillian and Frank Wadge; sister Bonnie Wadge; and great-granddaughter Ariel Pitchford.
A visitation will be held at Stone Funeral Home on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 1:30 PM. A graveside service officiated by Pastor Bob Anderson from Victory Baptist Church will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, weather permitting. If the graveside service is rained out, the service will be held at Stone Funeral Home and burial will follow immediately after.
