Niles E. Weatherwax

Niles E. Weatherwax, age 74, of Cheboygan passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at his home. He was born August 9, 1946 in Petoskey, the son of Henry and Iris (Saurault) Weatherwax.

Niles grew up in Carp Lake and graduated from Pellston High School. While living in Pellston, Niles was very active in youth sports, coaching little league baseball and peewee football. He had been a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mackinaw City where he had served as an usher for many years. Upon moving to Cheboygan, he became a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church. Niles was a happy-go-lucky guy who enjoyed playing Santa Claus, playing wii games and cards.

Survivors include his sister, Kathryn Passino of Cheboygan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Maynard and Lyman.

A memorial mass will take place at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 6 at 1:00 PM with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
