Norman LaPeer Obituary

Norman "Walt" Walter LaPeer, 83, of Afton passed away at home on Wednesday January 6, 2021. Norman was born, January 23, 1937 in Afton and was the last surviving child of Norman R. & Margaret (Bradley) LaPeer. He was preceded in death by brothers Albert, William, Thomas and Fulford and sisters Vera (Melvin) Baker and Louretta Chromicz.

Walt is Survived by his wife Julia Jane (Constable), daughter Julia Margaret LaPeer of Harrison Twp., MI son Norman Anthony LaPeer of Mt. Clemens, MI, brother in law Joseph Chromicz of Indian River, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Walt graduated from Inland Lakes High School in 1955. He worked for several railroads out of Detroit as a conductor until his retirement in 1992 then moved back to Afton.

Walt was a golfer and a sportsman and always planted a large garden.

A memorial will be planned in the spring.
