Patricia A. Robajdek, 82, of Cheboygan, passed away peacefully at her home on June 5, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on June 3, 1943, in Cheboygan, Patricia was the daughter of Martin and Janet (Twardecki) Mushlock. A lifelong resident of Cheboygan, she graduated from Cheboygan High School and later married the love of her life, James Robajdek, on May 26, 1962.
Patricia was the heart and soul of her family—a devoted matriarch who embraced life’s simple joys. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, found happiness in cooking home-cooked meals, enjoyed spirited poker games, and in her younger years, loved bowling. A steadfast fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers, she never missed a football pool and brought her competitive spirit to every season.
She had a special gift for making celebrations meaningful, especially family birthdays, and found great joy in casino trips shared with her loved ones and dear friend, Gloria Prykucki. Patricia’s strong work ethic was rooted in her early years on the family farm—an experience she held with deep pride. Eventually, she took over the farm herself, raising animals, including Belgian horses, with care and dedication.
Together with her husband and son Scott, Patricia co-owned and operated a successful landscaping and excavating business, pouring years of hard work and heart into the venture. She also catered weddings and large gatherings alongside her family, generously sharing her culinary talents to bring joy and warmth to those around her.
Patricia's strength and resilience were truly extraordinary. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she defied the odds and lived more than two decades beyond her original prognosis. Her strong determination and participation in clinical trials motivated a team of doctors to further investigate her case in hopes of gaining a better understanding of ovarian cancer.
She is survived by her children: Karen (Russ) Brewster, Sharon (Rick) LaHaie, Jeanette (Vince) Mollen, and Scott Robajdek; grandchildren: John (Willow) Brewster, Ricky (Karrie) LaHaie, Meghan (Jared Reimann) LaHaie, Josh Mollen, Jenna Mollen, Melissa LaHaie and Ryan LaHaie; honorary grandchildren: Olivia Mollen, Onna (Robert) Baxter, and Ella Pilon; and great-grandchildren: Eleanor LaHaie, Ellory LaHaie, and Stella Reimann. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Bur and Bob (Diane) Mushlock, as well as sisters-in-law Collette Mushlock, Alice Mushlock, and Janice (Eddie) Krueger; and by many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, James Robajdek; her parents; her in-laws, Stella (Manchester) Robajdek; her sisters Jane (Bill) Duffin and Florence (Gaton) Caswell; and her brothers; Ted Mushlock and Bill Mushlock.
Patricia's legacy of love, strength, and service will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private graveside service will be held for Patricia at a later date.
