Patti Sue Sorrick, age 67, resident of Petoskey, Michigan, died unexpectedly at her home on May 25, 2026. She was born in Petoskey, Michigan on February 4, 1959 to the late Donna K. (Routte) Sorrick and Thomas M. Sorrick. She graduated from Pellston High School, where she played softball and basketball, in 1977.
Patti's travels took her to Florida where she lived for ten years, working in construction and retail. She worked in Alaska for a summer. Patti carried a CDL license and worked in the transportation field for many years before she retired.
Patti was larger than life and very social. She had the most generous of hearts. Her one passion was raising her cats. They were her kids. She spent many of her younger years playing softball. She also enjoyed traveling. Her other great passion was Michigan sports; she was an avid Michigan Wolverine fan as well as Pistons, Lions and Red Wings.
Patti was preceded in death by her mother and father, Tom and Donna Sorrick, and her brothers, Tommy Sorrick and Robert Sorrick. Patti leaves behind her sisters, Linda (Ed) Sorrick, Cindy (Todd) Temple; her nieces, April (Norbert) Kelley, Jennifer (Ryan) Flynn, and Christina (Eric) McClees; and grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Patti’s life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey at 2pm. She will be laid to rest with her parents and her brothers at the McKinley Twp Cemetery in Pellston at a later date.
