Pearl L. (Forsman) Dally

Pearl L. (Forsman) Dally, 95 of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away at her home on July 11, 2021.

Daughter of Hugo and Lillian (Abt) Forsman, Pearl was born on December 28, 1925 in Negaunee, Michigan. She grew up in Negaunee and graduated from Negaunee High School. After high school she went to secretary school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

On February 7, 1948, she married Philip Dally in Milwaukee.

Pearl and Philip moved to Petoskey when Philip became the first male grade school teacher at Central Elementary School. Pearl started working for Kellogg’s Pottery Studio and Meyer Hardware when she moved to Petoskey. She then became a secretary for Petoskey High School until she retired. Pearl also spent much of her time doing volunteer work around the area. She would volunteer time at the hospital gift shop and she would spend time at Bay Bluffs and help with Bingo. Pearl also enjoyed being an election poll worker.

Pearl loved to knit. She had knitted hundreds of baby hats for babies and the nursery at the hospital. She also did quilts and afghan for the gift shop at the hospital. Pearl enjoyed baking beautiful cakes for her family for birthdays as well.

Pearl was a member of the United Methodist Church of Petoskey and the Hospital AUX.

Pearl was a kind hearted person that was there for her family and friends always. She was always willing to help out.

She is survived by her daughter Peggy (Steve) Woodward; her grandchildren Laura (Jon) Stache and Jeffrey (Caitlin) Woodward; and her great-grandchildren: Austin, Lillie, Nico, GloriaJean, Henry, and Clive.

Pearl is preceded in death by her husband Philip; and her sister Ruth Larsen.

A graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery for Pearl will be officiated by Pastor James Mitchum on August 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
