Phyllis Marchinkewicz

Phyllis Marchinkewicz, age 82 of Boyne Falls, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday April 28, 2025, at her home.

Phyllis was born on October 6, 1943, in New Boston, Michigan, one of nine children of Phillip and Lillian (Carlson) Jankowski. Phyllis attended Boyne Falls Public School after her family moved to Boyne Falls in 1959.

On October 30, 1961, she married the love of her life Richard Marchinkewicz, Sr. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Boyne Falls where they continued to live raising their children.

Phyllis went to work for Honeywell in 1966 where she worked for 43 years as one of the honor employees for community volunteer work before retiring in 2009. She was a UAW union representative, Cub Scout Den Mother, School board member and Polish Festival Committee member. She loved helping others.

Phyllis enjoyed family cookouts, time with her grandchildren, cooking, catering, gardening, bingo with friends and spending a little money at the casino.

Phyllis is survived by her children: Richard Marchinkewicz, Jr. of Boyne Falls, Phillip (Kathy) Marchinkewicz of Boyne Falls, Toni (Jim) Cranick of Vanderbilt, MI, Kevin (Cassie) Marchinkewicz of Boyne Falls, Penny (Adam) Wilson of Boyne City, MI; grandchildren: Jennifer (Alex) Houle of Saginaw, MI, Cindy (Ivan) Stilton of Grayling, MI; great-grandchildren: Hannah Gardner, Madison Gardner, Allie Wilson, Evin Wilson, Natalie Houle and Ivan Stilton, Jr.; sister Mildred Florenski and brother Ed Jankowski; numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Marchinkewicz, Sr.; her parents; siblings Mary Kucharek, Betty-Ann Genson, Delores Jankowski, Helen McGinn, Phillip Jankowski, Jr., David Jankowski, and Wilbert Jankowski; nephew Steven Jankowski; and nieces Nancy Kucharek and Delia Gensen.

A graveside service will be at 3:00 PM at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery on May 16, 2025.
