Richard Emerson Brand

Richard Brand, 72, of Levering, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at home.

Richard Emerson Brand was born September 30, 1948 in Clare, Michigan, the son of Hugh and Nellie (Webb) Brand.  Richard married Linda on July 11, 1965. They had four children, Melissa, Richard, Beau, and Krista. After eleven years of marriage, Richard and Linda divorced, and in 1985 Richard married Betty Melching and they had a son, Scott Brand.

Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time visiting with friends and family. He was always happy to help someone out, giving rides to friends and helping family with projects. He gave many a place to stay when needed, and could be counted on to do anything to help. He was a kind, dependable, and loving man.

Richard is survived by his four children, Beau Brand, Melissa Brand-Ray, Krista Brand, and Scott Brand, ten grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his brother Hugh Brand, and his sister, Janet Flack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Nellie Brand, and his sisters Patty Brand and Dororthy Ulch, and his son, Richard Brand.

Richard’s family and friends will be remembering him with a small service on March 6, at 2 PM, at Nordman-Christan Funeral Home in Cheboygan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Scott Brand to help with final costs (6748 Pleasantview Rd., Levering MI, 49755).
