Richard Douglas Gregory passed away Sunday, March 29th, 2026, at his farm in Good Hart.
Dick was born in Bay Shore, MI, January 15th, 1939, to Clair and Hildred Gregory. He was raised on their family farm in Harbor Springs. He attended Harbor Springs Schools where he met Rosemary Saddison, and the two were married October 24th, 1959. After spending their first winter in Charlevoix they bought their farm in Good Hart in the spring of 1960. There they farmed and raised their two daughters, Faith and Dixie.
Dick’s first love was his farm. He often had jobs off the farm, driving trucks, driving horses on Harbor Point, and working in the woods with his father, Clair. He continued to work in the woods most of his life, but his real love was his farm. He raised beef cattle, pigs, and always had draft horses. The last 15 years he focused on selling meat at the Harbor Springs Farm Market. He loved the market as he enjoyed all the people and was so proud of his meat and telling everyone about his farm.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, and daughter Faith Hofbauer, as well as his sister Wilma Tippett and brother Hanie Gregory.
He is survived by his daughter Dixie and son-in-law Gary Luebke; his grandchildren, Matthew and Sam Luebke, Jordan and Shane Hofbauer; two great-grandchildren, Jere and Charlotte Hofbauer; his sister Diane Schlappi and brother Don Gregory, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at the Stutsmanville Chapel on April 25th with visitation at 10:00 AM, funeral service at 11:00 AM, and a lunch following the service.
