Obituary

Richard L. Kozlowski, 90 of Harbor Springs, died peacefully at home on November 10, 2020, his wife Gail at his side.

 

Dick was born January 5, 1930 in Wyandotte, Michigan.  He attended Roosevelt High School, graduating in January 1948.  He participated in several sports, but rowing for the Wyandotte Boat Club was his favorite.  His crews medaled in the Canadian Henley and the Philadelphia School Boy Competitions as well as several local competitions on the Detroit River.  Dick graduated from Michigan State in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, was commissioned in the United States Army and served as a Chief of Army Audit at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1952 to 1954, returning to the University of Michigan and graduating in 1957 with his Law and MBA Degrees.

 

Dick joined the National Bank of Detroit, working for his thirty-three-year career in the Trust Department, retiring in 1990. During his business years, he served on the Board of Regents of the Orchard Lake Schools, United Community Services and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries.  In 1992, Dick and Gail moved from Grosse Pointe to Harbor Springs, Michigan, dividing their time between homes in Harbor Springs and Stuart, FL.  They are member of Birchwood Farms Golf and Country Club and the Heathers Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

 

Dick will be remembered for his keen intellect, quick wit, and kindness to all.

 

He is survived by his wife, Gail; 4 children, Mary Ann (Kip Stretton) Kozlowski, Richard Kozlowski, Jr., William (Ann) Kozlowski, and Alan Kozlowski; and by 4 grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim (Kozlowski) Pantaleo. 

 

A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 17th at 1pm at the Holy Childhood catholic Church in Harbor Springs where the family will be receiving friends from Noon until the time of service.
