Robert Kazmierowski, age 80 passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on November 2, 2023. He found solace and comfort at the Hiland Cottage, where he was lovingly cared for by Hospice, as he battled the challenges of dementia. Robert, a kind soul, entered this world on May 9, 1943, in Hamtramck, Michigan, born to Emma (Welenc) and Roman Kazmierowski. His life was filled with special moments, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette (Toni Boza), and was the eldest of 4 children. He is survived by his sisters Susan Gamble (Katie, niece) Patricia Kazmierowski and his brother Michael (Tammy) Kazmierowski.
In his role as a father, Robert had two children. His daughter, Renee Kazmierowski, a gifted artist with an adventurous soul, left her mark before passing in 1995. His son, Adam who passed in 2015 shared his father's passion for the Lions and Tigers, and they bonded over their love for those sports teams. They also enjoyed deer hunting together.
Robert was a brilliant Certified Public Accountant (CPA) whose expertise was highly sought after by his clients. He earned his degree from the Walsh Institute of Accountancy in downtown Detroit, now known as Walsh College. His professional journey led him from Lybrand, Ross Brothers, and Montgomery to Reitz and LaFletche, culminating in his own successful firm in Cheboygan. For 38 years, he served his community with dedication and integrity, leaving a lasting impact as a respected CPA.
Robert's love story with Toni, his sweetheart from Detroit, bloomed into a 59-year marriage. As a couple they enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family and friends. Together, they celebrated countless moments, from cheering on the Lions at the Silverdome and Ford Field to exploring the open road on their Harley, venturing to Toronto, the Upper Peninsula, and Wisconsin. Robert's passion for bridge extended to becoming a Life Master where he traveled to tournaments all over the country. He accepted the honor as Director of the sanctioned bridge club in Cheboygan. He continued to enjoy the game, participating in duplicate bridge in Petoskey. Another of his joys was cultivating roses, and adorning their home with the beauty of his creations. As a couple, Robert and Toni opened their home and hearts to several dogs, enriching their lives with love and companionship.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice or the Cheboygan Humane Society, reflecting Robert's compassionate spirit and love for those in need. His memory lives on in the hearts of those he touched, a testament to a life well-lived.
