Robert Smith

Robert (Bob) Smith passed away peacefully on September 24, 2022.  Bob was born to Hubert and Mildred Smith on February 8, 1952.  Bob graduated from Denby High School and attended the University of Michigan from 1970 to 1975, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.  While at the University of Michigan, Bob also was a proud member of the Michigan Marching Band.

Bob had the gift of gab and made friends easily.  He loved to attend Michigan Football Games, and marched in many Michigan Alumni Band Events throughout the years.  He also loved to golf, sail, garden, attend jazz concerts and musical theatre productions and spend time with his Labrador Retrievers, Inkee and Maizee.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Lizabeth, and four adoring sisters-in-law, Patricia, Mary, Josie and Anne, one niece, Alycia, one nephew, Andrew, and countless friends.  It speaks to Bob’s big heart and character that all of his sisters-in-law deeply loved him and always enjoyed talking and visiting with him and asking for his advice and counsel on many matters.

Bob will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him – He was taken from us too early, but he is at peace now.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Nordman-Christian Funeral Home, 302 South Huron Street, Cheboygan, Michigan.  Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cheboygan, Michigan.
