Robert "Bob" P. Hyde

Robert “Bob” P. Hyde, 76, died May 17, 2023 at the Munson Hospital in Charlevoix, Michigan.

Bob was born on December 31, 1946, the son of Frances P. and Francis J. Hyde. Bob attended Immaculate Heart of Mary grade school and Detroit Catholic Central High School, where he graduated in 1964.

Bob joined the United States Air Force in April 1966 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in February 1970. He was a Vietnam Veteran.

In June 1988, he married Margaret Jane Brown. The couple made their home in the Detroit area before moving to Boyne City, where they lived for about 30 years.

Bob worked in several places, including Michigan Bell and Great Lakes Energy where he retired in 2011.

Bob and Margaret “Sparkie” enjoyed friends and family gatherings, traveling in their RV, camping, good food and all of the parades and festivals in the area.

Bob was also a long time member of the Boyne City VFW and Eagles Club where he enjoyed all of the activities and friends he made over the years.  

Bob is survived by his wife Margaret “Sparkie” Hyde of Boyne City; brothers John Hyde of Marquette, Lawrence (Marguerite) Hyde of Gaylord, and James Hyde in Massachusetts.

He was preceded in death by his mother Frances P. Hyde and his father Francis J. Hyde; brothers Charles F. Hyde and J. Michael Hyde.

There will be a private family service and burial with immediate family at Resurrection Cemetery in Gaylord, Michigan.
