Obituary

Robert “Bob” Keith LaVanway, 67, of Boyne City, Michigan, passed away suddenly on April 22, 2022.

Bob was born in Charlevoix on July 11, 1954. He married Janice, the love of his life for the past 40 years on July 18, 1981.

Bob is survived by his wife Janice, son Robert Jr. (Leah), daughter Summer and his brother Randy (Laurie). 

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Elgin and Mae, mother-in-law Aubrey Wilson, siblings, Virgil (Sharon), Richard, Donald, Dale, Dennis, Shirley (Lyle) Etcher.

Bob and his brother Randy, owned and operated R & B Excavating for the last 32 years.  Before starting their business, he drove semis over the road for LaVanway Trucking.   He enjoyed deer hunting, planting food plots, watching NASCAR, morel mushroom hunting, racing his mud truck, and he was the best supervisor you could ask for as he always made sure whatever project it was that it was done right.

In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to “Tip of the Mitt QDMA Branch” for the veterans hunt at the Brave Hearts Estate; C/O Nick Moore 5718 Pickerel Lake Road, Petoskey, MI 49770.

 A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
