Robert J. Larson, 78, of Boyne City, Michigan, passed away on September 28, 2025, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, Michigan.
Son of Robert A. Larson and Mary Melva (McCabe) Larson, Bob was born on August 31, 1947, in Buffalo, New York. He grew up in Lockport, New York. Bob attended school at Canisius College in Buffalo, Pikes Peak College in Colorado where he earned two Associates Degree of Criminology, and Regis University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
On May 27, 1967, he married Christine Goskowicz in Lockport, New York. They were married for over 58 years.
Bob served eight years in the United States Army as military police.
Bob retired from being the chief of police in Woodland Park, Colorado, after 16 years in 2015. He served for 44 years and was at the Woodland Park police department for 36 of those years.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and shooting.
Bob was a quiet leader that inspired people with his wisdom and professionalism.
He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Boyne City, Michigan.
Bob is survived by his wife Christine; son Peter; daughter Jeanine (John); and three grandchildren: Matthew, Aeryn, and Michael.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary.
Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Bob’s memory are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Association.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Charles Hoffman at the Christ Lutheran Church will be announced at a later date.
