Robert “Ryan” Cloud, 38, of Bloomfield Hills, died March 22, 2023, at his family home on Walloon Lake.
Ryan was born May 22, 1984, in Rochester, the son of Jack Cloud and Roberta “Bobbie” (Young) Tweddle. He grew up in Bloomfield Hills and attended school at Seaholm High School in Birmingham. He was active in football and hockey and graduated in 2002.
He attended DePaul University in Chicago for his undergraduate degree and University of Michigan Law School. He studied the Chinese language and visited the country often, eventually moving there for a full year. He was an intellectual person, always reading and learning. He enjoyed expanding his knowledge of Zen Buddhism. Ryan practiced kindness, compassion and empathy in his everyday life.
His favorite place on earth was Walloon Lake. Ryan loved being on the pontoon boat, watching the sunset over the water.
Ryan is survived by his mother and step-father, Bobbie and Michael Tweddle of Walloon Lake and Bloomfield Hills; his sister and brother-in-law, Jaclyn and Lyle Dodge of Washington; and by his niece and nephew, Christopher and Katherine Dodge, who he loved immensely.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Cloud.
There will be a celebration of life on April 5, 2023, at the Community House (380 South Bates, Birmingham, MI 48009) from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
