Robin (Girard) Westfall

Robin (Girard) Westfall passed away on April 17, 2026, at her home in Beaugrand Township, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 5, 1958, in Newport News, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Janice (Brown) Girard, and her brother, Kelly Girard.

Robin is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dan Westfall; her daughter, Jamie Westfall; her grandchildren, Collin Mersch and Cameron Mersch; her sister, Terry Marcinek; her sister-in-law, Judy Gervais Girard; her brother-in-law, Vince Marcinek; her nieces, Kelsey (Marcinek) Swanson, Hannah (Marcinek) Kevitt, and Jordan (Girard) Ware; her nephew, Jesse Girard; her aunt, Carol (Girard) Whittaker; and her two sweet dogs, Maggie and Bella.

Robin will be remembered for her many years working as a baker and line cook in the Mackinaw City area, including approximately 25 years at Audie’s Restaurant. In later years, she served as Office Manager for the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum for five years and as Beaugrand Township Treasurer for 14 years.

She had a deep love of science, history, and genealogy. During the final six years of her life, while battling myelodysplastic syndrome, she devoted her time to working on a substantial manuscript, researching her ancestry, and continuing to serve township taxpayers from her home office.

Robin was especially passionate about genealogy. She took great pride in tracing her direct lineage to seven Filles du Roi (“King’s Daughters”) and in being accepted into the Mayflower Society through verified documentation linking her to one of the 102 passengers who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620 at Plymouth, Massachusetts.
