Roger Elden Monette, 82 of Cheboygan, Michigan, joined our heavenly maker on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home, his favorite place on earth. A graveside burial service at Mount Avon Cemetery in Rochester, Michigan has been set for Friday, June 12, 2026, at 12:00pm - all are welcome to attend. A funeral luncheon will follow immediately after at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester.
He was born in Pontiac, Michigan and grew up in nearby Lake Orion, graduating from Lake Orion High School in 1962. Immediately after high school, Roger enlisted in the Navy where he served a number of years and was honorably discharged. Roger prided himself in being quite the handyman - he especially liked projects that involved woodwork, once building a very large deck on the wooded side of his home.
From Roger’s first marriage, he is survived by his daughter Miranda and son Chris, his children’s spouses as well as three granddaughters and one grandson.
From Roger’s second marriage, he is survived by Doris Evelyn, his loving wife of 44 years and stepchildren Debra Miller, John Kurkowski, their spouses, five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters Sandy and Gloria and Brother-in-law Ron, nieces and nephews, many additional relatives and life-long friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Chris and Martha Monette.
