Roger L. Wemigwase

Roger Louis Wemigwase, 76, passed away peacefully February 9, 2026, at the Villa at the Bay. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Roger was born in Harbor Springs and attended the Holy Childhood of Jesus school. He was a tribal member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. 

Recent jobs included Shuttle Driver for Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Casino for 20 years. He retired in 2020. 

He enjoyed listening to various music, being outdoors, and woodworking. One of his favorite songs includes "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary L. Gasco, and Chris J. Wemigwase; and dozens of nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard A. and Evelyn C. (Chingwa) Wemigwase; brothers, Richard H., Ronald, Robert and Russell Wemigwase; and two sisters Gloria Wemigwase and Roxanne Wemigwase.

He will be remembered with family and friends, this coming spring. Family suggests memorials to Little Traverse Humane Society, Harbor Springs (ltbhs.org).
