Rose Mary (Williams) Juntunen

Rose Mary (Williams) Juntunen, 83, passed away at home on Monday June 15, 2026 with her daughter, Shawn, by her side. Rosemary was born on February 22, 1943 in Detroit, MI. She married the love of her life, Royce E.J. Juntunen on June 24, 1961, making their home in Detroit. Where they started their family of 4 children before moving to Indian River, MI in 1978.

Rosemary was a dedicated hard working employee, working at Vivio’s in Indian River for many years and a long term employee at Villa Italiano in Petoskey where she was the owner’s right hand, confidant and was an integral part in its success. 

Her most cherished and beloved job was raising her 4 children. While she devoted herself to her own family, her love extended far beyond it. The friends that passed through her home were never treated as guests - they were treated as family. Many remained close throughout the years, remembering her as a second mother whose kindness, acceptance, and unwavering love impacted their lives.

She is survived by her Daughters, Tammie (Carl) Sandel, Shawn Juntunen, Grandson’s, Aaron (Drake) Cooper, Jarred (Skylar Page) Cooper, Niece’s, Nephew’s, and many Cousin’s.

She is preceded in death by her Parents Arthur F. Williams, Evelyn M. Buckles, Step-Father John M. Buckles, Husband of 57 years Royce E.J. Juntunen, Son’s John Juntunen, Todd R. Juntunen, siblings Donald Wolfgram, Robert Williams, & Carol Knoy.
