Rosemary Helen (Smith) Smith of Charlevoix, Michigan, went to heaven to be with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on September 15, 2024, at McLaren Northern Michigan at the age of 84.
Rosemary was born on February 22, 1940, in Alma, Michigan to Wallace and Helen (Schlegel) Smith. She graduated from Boyne City High School in 1958. She married Leslie Smith on August 28, 1959. They had five children. Rosemary was a cook for Galien School District and a camp cook for Riverside Camp on Cran Hill Ranch. She worked in Children’s Ministry alongside her husband who pastored several Michigan churches throughout the years. They led a puppet ministry and toured the lower peninsula performing in numerous churches.
Surviving are her husband; Leslie Smith; her children, Kaye (Randy) Blodgett of Shepherd, Michigan; Mark (Franette) Smith of Missouri City, Texas; Christa (Doug) Jones of Santa Barbara, California; and Michael Smith of Liberty, Missouri; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jonathan Smith; brothers, Donald and Kenneth Smith; and sister-in-law, Jewel Smith.
Services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Horton Bay Community Church in Horton Bay, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the service to follow at 11:00 AM officiated by Pastor Paul Wise. The graveside service will follow at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Boyne City, Michigan. A luncheon will be provided after the service.
