Ross T. Baker, Sr., 75, of Petoskey, Michigan, died on February 27, 2022, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan.
Son of Howard and Wanda (Swadling) Baker, Ross was born on May 27, 1946, in Petoskey. He grew up in Harbor Springs, Michigan, Alanson, Michigan, and Petoskey. Ross attended Harbor Springs schools.
On September 13, 1964, he married Valerie McNabb in Harbor Springs.
He worked for his brother Sid Baker Masonry, his brother-in-law at Donnelly Electric, Little Harbor Club and Circuit Controls until retirement.
Ross loved Sunday drives, NASCAR, country music, outdoor games, and family gatherings on all holidays. He took great pride in seeing all his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. Ross was notorious for being the food pusher as his first great-granddaughter, Grace, nicknamed her grandpa.
He is survived by his wife Valerie (Tudy); his children: Ross T. (Nadine) Baker, Jr., Chrissy (Chris) Baker, Rick Baker, Tom (Carrie) Baker, and Kim (Rick) Boda; his grandchildren: Dillon (Jen) Baker, Jana (Justin) Baker, Alison (Ryan) Aquino, Max Mathews, John (Irene) Mathews, Christopher Baker, Ryan Baker, Nathan (Alexis) Boda, and Alicia (Ren) O’Neil; his great-grandchildren: Grace Baker, Kennedy Aquino, Rush Aquino, Hayes Aquino, Mila Mathews, Ezea Baker, Ollivanader Baker, Deacon Baker, Meolody Baker, and soon to be baby O’Neil; his two sisters Margaret (Darcy) Geary and Mary (Phil) Koerber; his sisters-in-law: Bev Baker and Janice Baker; and many nieces, nephews, and one god son.
Ross is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Wanda Baker; and his siblings: Sid Baker, Howard Baker, Holly (Ray) Hatfield, Rhoda (Glenn) Leavitt, Jean (Earl) Temple, Janet (Lynn) Hite, Sally (Don) Allen, and Belinda (Ray) Wiggs.
