Ruth Almyra Charboneau, 81, of Cheboygan, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Wings of Hope Hospice House in Allegan, Michigan.
Ruth was born September 9, 1937 in Cheboygan, the daughter of John and Josephine (LaPointe) Niesen. She was a graduate of Cheboygan Catholic High School, and later, on August 13, 1960 in Detroit, married Gerald “Jerry” Charboneau, who preceded her in death in 2004. She loved arts and crafts, and was an accomplished piano player.
She is survived by her son, Greg (Madison) Charboneau of Grand Rapids, three grandchildren, Lauren Charboneau of Portage, Lindsay (Brad) Loomans of Dorr, and Brad Charboneau of Eureka, California, three great grandchildren, Dustin, Mason, and Gavin, a sister, Violet (Jack) Perry of Cheboygan, a sister in law, Novalee (Jack) Nieson of Chanteau, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry, three sisters, Evelyn Maltby, Thelma Neelis, and Arlene Ballard, and three brothers, Iveral, Gilbert, and Jack Niesen.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 11:00am, at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan, with the family greeting friends at the church beginning at 10:00am. Rev. Duane Wachowiak will officiate, burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Alverno.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan, Michigan.
