Ruth L. Scott

Ruth L. Scott, 95 of Levering, Michigan passed away on November 20, 2020 at Medilodge of Cheboygan in Cheboygan, Michigan.

Daughter of WM E. and Ava (Hoig) Sydow, Ruth was born on May 4, 1925 in Brutus, Michigan. She grew up at Chickagami Dairy on Burt Lake and attended school at Pellston public schools and graduated from Pellston High School in 1942.

On October 3, 1942, she married Chauncey Scott in Lansing, Michigan. The couple made their home in the Brutus area until 1967 when they moved to Levering. Chauncey preceded her in death on August 17, 1993.

Ruth had been a faithful homemaker her entire life and devoted herself to her husband and children.

Ruth loved golfing, fishing, and crafting. She also was an avid and skillful card player.

Ruth was an honorary member of the Burt Lake Band of Chippewa-Ottawa Indians and a life member: OES #423 – Pellston.

Ruth is survived by her son Mark A. and his wife Michelle of Levering, Michigan; her two grandchildren Laura and Gayla; and her great-grand children Aidan, Andrew, Aubree, Ava, Lilly, Madison and Wyatt.  

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband and her son Russell.

Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Ruth’s memory are suggested by family to pick a favorite charity of their choice.

A memorial service will be announced by family at a later time. Ruth will be buried at Maple River Township Cemetery in Brutus, Michigan.
