Samuel Tyler Gross

Samuel Tyler Gross, 18, of Petoskey, MI, died October 13, 2025.

A celebration of his life will be held at The Grand Unity Center on October 16, 2025, 3pm-7pm.  There will be an opportunity for family and friends to speak at 4:30.

Sam was born February 7, 2007, and raised as the proud son of Paul and Paula Gross. Sam grew up in Petoskey, earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2024, and graduated from Petoskey High School in 2025. Sam is survived by his brother Logan, and many close family members, Sam was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Sam enjoyed so many outdoor activities, fishing and hunting, Boy Scouts, loved working on cars and trucks, computers, and was just beginning to find his way in this world. He also had a real love of all kinds of good food and was passionate about cooking.     

The truth is everyone reading this obituary is asking "How did this happen, How did Sam die?" My answer is that sometimes a moment can change everything, time is never promised, and we don't always get a second chance.

We have loved him since the moment he came into this family, he changed us all, and we will miss him forever.
