Sharon Fenlon Obituary

Sharon Kaye (Elliott) Fenlon, age 77 of Cheboygan passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey, Michigan from Covid-19.

Sharon was born March 29, 1944 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Al and Leola Lafrinere.  Sharon graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1962.  Her places of employment were Plymouth Industries, Fox Valley and 22 years at Ormsbee Motors/Fernelius Toyota.

Sharon was an avid U of M Football fan and enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, bingo, spending time with her family and going on adventures with Stacey, which more often than not meant taking a wrong turn and ending up somewhere they had never been before.  Family came first with Sharon and she worried about everyone.  If she couldn’t get ahold of us by phone or you weren’t where she thought you should be, she made it her mission to find you, right down to getting in her car and go looking for you.  Because of Sharon, we became “Family Strong”.  She was the first one there to help anyone out.  She will be greatly missed.

On April 19, 1969, Sharon married the love of her life, Dick Fenlon at St. Francis Church in Alverno.  On January 9, 1975, she gave birth to their daughter, Stacey, the other love and joy of her life. Shortly after their marriage, Sharon found out, through a newspaper article, that she had married into the largest family in Michigan and she loved them all.

Survivors include her husband, Dick, daughter, Stacey, 3 siblings, Linda Cronan, Michael (Joan) Lafrinere, and Roger (Debbie) Lafrinere all of Cheboygan, brothers-in-law, Chester (Rosemary) Fenlon, Gary (Sue) Fenlon, sisters-in-Law, Rose Sova and Shirley Neelis, nieces and nephews, Scott, Keri (Sam), Taylor (Steph), Matthew (Ashley), Amanda (Danny), Brady (Katie), Diane (Dennis), Terry (Debbie), Randy (Debra), Dale, Debbie (Dave), Todd (Lisa), Mike, Peggy, Tina (Paul), Becky (Sam), Vicki, Karen (Chris), Mike (Laura), Paul (Lynn), Sarah (Pete), Rebekah, Josh, and Jake (Jeanine), great-nieces and great-nephews, Lucas (Abbi), Alayna, Lance, Aleah, Julia, Eliza, Elliot, Mari, Quinn, Louis, Owen, Hazel, Grayson, Brian, Shannon, Nicole, Mike, Sherri, Jody, Jenny, Aiden, Cody, Mallorie, Cory, Kyle, Mandy, Jason, Shawn, Amy, Matt, Trevor, Jeremy, Chad, Kate, Will, Bobby, Ted, Sam, Ariana, Gavan, Logan, Lillian, Maggie, James, Jessica, and Jenny, and her beloved cats, Bella and Rambo.
