Shirley JoAnn Hewitt, 83, of Conway, died peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on May 15, 2022.
Shirley was born June 11, 1938, in Petoskey, the daughter of Carroll and Hazel (Niswander) Knight.
On June 21, 1958, she married the love of her life, William B. Hewitt. They spent 41 years together until his death in 1999. She was a supportive and loving wife to her husband in all his endeavors and spent most anniversaries at a baseball field.
She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her passion her whole life was her family. She loved to laugh and made anyone around her very comfortable and inviting. Whatever her children and grandchildren enjoyed doing, she supported them and was there. Her commitment and dedication to this family is our true heritage.
She is survived by her sons, Brent (Kelly), Clark (Heidi), and Denny (Tarina) Hewitt; daughter-in-law, Kate Hewitt; grandchildren, Megan (Zac) Reilly, Hannah (Dustin) Urman, Kaylee (Kenton) Holliday, Will Hewitt, Shawn (Jamie) Lanter, Cam (Ari) Hewitt, Collin (Meg) Hewitt, and Drew Hewitt; and great-grandchildren, Carson Urman, Peyton Urman, Lettie Hewitt, Ari Lanter, and Owen Urman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William B. Hewitt; and son, Steven Hewitt.
There will be a memorial service at Harbor Light Chapel on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation time begins at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Gary Mindel will officiate.
