Sophie (Christian) Field

Sophie Field, 91 of Indian River passed away on October 28, 2018 at Hiland Cottage Hospice in Petoskey.

Sophie was born on May 3, 1927 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of George Christian and Sophia (Kezi) Christian. She grew up in Detroit and attended school in Detroit as well. In 1947 she married James Field in Detroit. Sophie enjoyed reading, cooking, wildlife, bird watching, cross-stitching, and family games. She also enjoyed Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and watching golf. Most of all, Sophie loved spending time with her family.

Sophie is survived by her children Michael (Mary Ann) Field, Laura (Pat) Dohoney, and Chuck Field, thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, children James Field Jr. and Louise Dean, daughter in law Darlene Field and four siblings.

There will be a graveside service for Sophie on Wednesday, October 31st at 1pm at Oak Hill Cemetery in Indian River.
