Stanley J. Olsen

Stanley Joseph Olsen stepped into eternity to join his His Heavenly Father on Friday April 16, 2021 with family by his side. Stan was born on April 2, 1932 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Christian and Mildred (Demute) Olsen. Leaving behind his two living brothers and their wives; Donald and Janice Olsen and Leonard and Peggy Olsen. In addition to his four children their Spouses and Grandchildren are, Son Stanley J. Olsen, wife Karen, Grandchildren Heidi VanderWal and Hanna Olsen. Son Donald D. Olsen, wife Patrice, Granddaughter Elizabeth Olsen. Son Michael A. Olsen, wife Natalie, Grandchildren Jessica and Gabrielle and Paul Olsen. Daughter AmyLynn Thomas, husband John and Grandchildren Lindsey and John Thomas.

Stan served two years in the army during the Korean War reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. While in Korea he was assigned to various positions, such as Head of Supplies and Procurement as well as The Supervisor of the Fuel Depot. When he got out of the military, he worked at McCalpine Engineering, where he did field surveying and mapping work.  Stan then went on to work at General Motors as an accountant for The Fisher Body Division, for 38 years. While Stan was not hard at work he enjoyed running, working out, coaching sports for his children, and most of all being a Golf nut! Throughout his lifetime of golf, he had achieved five aces in his pocket!       

Stan enjoyed his retirement years in a home he built in The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida. Where he could ride his road and mountain bikes for miles and golf until his heart was content. He also enjoyed working in the yard and modifying his beautiful landscaping every few years. He loved being outdoors enjoying the sunshine. Many of his neighbors admired his enthusiasm and zest for life. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.

A graveside service for immediate family will be held at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery May 22nd 2021 at 11:00am
