Summer LaHaie Obituary

Summer Jean LaHaie, 10, of Cheboygan passed away on May 18, 2023 after a 15 month long bout with childhood brain cancer. She was born on January 16, 2013.

Summer was a fighter, giving everything her best shot, surpassing all odds and beating them with leaps and bounds and has become a Legend to all around her. She was a member of Cheboygan Shock Competitive Cheer and was a talented artist, her Anime’ drawings are that of a talented artist twice her age. She brought light to everyone around her, coming during a winter storm, making her name Summer a true testament to who she was and the light that she brought to all around her.

Summer is survived by her parents, Kevin and Tina LaHaie, her sisters, Hope and Heather, her brother-in-law, Jacob Fish, nephews, Daniel Moulder and Noah Fish, her aunt Rose Walters and great aunt Ellen Paulley, and Coach Judy Drielts. She also leaves behind her dogs Hunter and Tigger and her best friends, Destiny Jewell, Abigail Coobaugh, Gracelynn McDonald, and McKenna Burchacki.

Visitation will take place at Nordman-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, May 26 from 4pm – midnight. Services will be at Nordman-Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30 at 10:30, burial to immediately follow at Maple Grove Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Cheboygan Eagles Lodge.

The family would like to thank anyone and everyone that prayed, supported them through fundraisers and bake sales to make it possible for them to be able to be with her and not have to worry financially during this difficult time.
