Susan Kay (Babcock) Sherman

Susan Kay Sherman, 75 of Wolverine passed away Thursday April 27, 2023 in Traverse City Mi.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Susan was born in Grayling, Michigan, on September 2, 1947 to Hugh and Alice (Ealy) Babcock. Susan spent most of her life in Wolverine where she graduated from high School in 1965. On September 11, 1965 she married Ralph Sherman. Together they built and operated a family business. She worked as a waitress until 2021 and finished her work career as a Walmart attendant. Susan enjoyed sewing and crocheting, she was always working on a project of some sort. She was a wonderful homemaker, most would say if they stopped by her home around dinner time they would have no choice but to sit and enjoy a home cooked meal. More than anything she loved spending time with her beloved family. She went above and beyond when it came to her son, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ralph Sherman of Wolverine, her son Chadwick Sherman (Kim) of Wolverine, granddaughter Sadie Sherman (Austin) of Wolverine, Garrett Sherman of Wolverine, Two great grandsons, Everhertt and Brooks Kortman, her baby sister Karen (Glen) Alexander of Wolverine, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Alice Babcock, her brother Hugh Dwain (Rosenda) Babcock and Francis Boyd Babcock of Wolverine, sisters Lorraine Bennett Norton and Stella Conant of grand Rapids, grandson Colton J Sherman of Wolverine.
