Sylvester Stanley Jankoviak, 97, of Cheboygan, Michigan, passed away September 25, 2022 at My Michigan Medical Center in Alpena, Michigan.
Sylvester was born November 2, 1924 to Stanley and Gladys (Skiera) Jankoviak. He was employed for many years at Plymouth Industry and later for Century Products in Cheboygan, from which he retired in 1988.
Sylvester was a Veteran of the Armed Forces during World War II. He served in the 475th Infantry campaigns in India Burma, Central Burma, China (Defensive) and China (Offensive) where he earned the Combat Infantryman Badge along with several other Ribbons and Medals. He was a lifelong member of the VFW.
Sylvester is survived by one brother, Richard Jankoviak, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Gladys, brothers Frankie, Vincent, and Clement, and sisters Gertrude, Clara, Veronica, Jospehine, and Marie.
Services will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Riggsville at 11:00 am with family greeting friends one hour prior. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
