Sylvia Ann (Sikorski) Latier

Sylvia Ann Latier (Sikorski), 83, of Cheboygan, Michigan passed away on May 26, 2023. She was born on March 25, 1940 to Stanislaus and Genevieve Sikorski (Rempala).

Sylvia graduated from St. Hedwig High School in Detroit in 1958. She met Russell while racing down Warren Ave., and they were married on September 1, 1962. They welcomed their first daughter Cheryl to the family, and soon after came Sharon.

Sylvia was a hard worker, very family oriented, an artist, crafter, and baker. Many Christmases were spent baking with the family. Vacations were always spent up north, so in 1999 she and Russell decided to move here to enjoy their retirement.

Sylvia is survived by Russell, her husband of 61 years. Two daughters Cheryl Mercer and Sharon Latier (Eric Pliska), two grandchildren Nicolas Mercer (Elena Roma) and Heidi Jesweak (Brock), and one great grandson Dean Jesweak. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Stan Sikorski, sister in law JoAnne Sikorski, Sister Virginia Olsewski, brother in law Bob Olsewski, sister in law Delores Latier, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Services for Sylvia will take place on May 31, 2023 at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Mackinaw City. Visitation will be at 9:00AM and funeral mass will be at 10:00AM, followed by a luncheon and then burial at Lakeview Cemetery.
