Tad Edwin Richardson, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2026 in Cheboygan, Michigan, where his life began on October 7, 1960. Tad lived a life of adventure and resilience maintaining a deep love for family. He put himself through college, became a nurse then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he could be closer to his father. Maintaining a strong work ethic, he followed many paths before eventually returning to Cheboygan to be closer to his Michigan family. His hobbies included fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles.
Tad is survived by daughters, Tabitha (Andy) Goldsmith of Lowell, Michigan and Tonya Richardson of Sault Ste. Marie, stepson Collin Winemiller, along with his ten grandchildren: Elijah, Emery, Ethan, Easton, Ezra, Kamber, Travis, and Violet of Lowell and Paisley and Tatum of the Soo. Also surviving are his mother Fay (Tom) Scheske of Cheboygan, brother Kenneth (Calien) Richardson, niece Krystyn (Andrew) Grinell, nephew Aaron (Allison) Richardson and his cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Richardson.
Tad often said he had more than he deserved and believed that if God blessed him with another day, it was a good day. We find comfort knowing he was called home.
Visitation and funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 8 at the Northshore Community Church in Cheboygan between 10am – noon. Interment will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Aloha Township.
