It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thaddeus V. Sitko, on Monday, April 26, 2021, at the age of 89.
Thaddeus “Ted” Sitko, was born February 13, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan. A graduate of Western High School in Detroit, Ted went on to complete his apprenticeship as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker at Fisher Body. After a 45 year career, he retired from General Motors as a Metal Fabrication Tooling Specialist.
He and his loving wife of 60 years, Joan Sitko loved to travel until her passing on February 27, 2012. Together Ted and Joan raised five children.
He was liked and respected by those who knew him and all were drawn by his magnetic personality. His spirit remains alive for those who knew and loved him, now and forever.
He was a founding member of St. Mel Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights, Michigan and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his five children; Michael (wife Patricia), Patrick, Thaddeus, Joseph (wife Cynthia) and Anthony (wife Mary). Ted is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Stone Funeral Home, 2098 E. Mitchell Street, Petoskey, MI 49770 at 2:00 p.m. Public visitation is from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
