Theone E. Allen of Pellston, ascended to Heaven on Friday, September 23, 2022, after a brief illness.
She was born November 16, 1933, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Alex Kong and Kathleen Wilson-Lechleitner. She often reminisced with vivid detail the events of the Infamous Day, December 7, 1941. In May of 1946 she was brought to Pellston, MI by her adoptive parents, Paul and Florence Goo, where she attended school and graduated from Pellston High School with the class of 1952. She married James Wilton Allen of Valdosta, GA and they made their home in Pellston where they raised their family.
Theone worked as a waitress in local restaurants for many years, alongside lifelong friends Bettejune Croff and Ardath McDonald. She was very active in her church, St. Clement Catholic Church of Pellston, as an organist for nearly forty years. Later she became a Eucharistic Minister, delivering communion to those unable to attend mass. For many years she was the official “Hugger” of St. Clement.
Theone was very active attending sporting events of her children, working countless concession stands with the Sports Boosters and endless bake sales. Her greatest joy was having all of her children around the dinner table with a meal she lovingly planned weeks in advance and prepared.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Steve) Krimbill of Midland, MI, SGM (Ret) Toni Allen, Mike Allen, Mary (Richard) Carter, all of Pellston, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Shirley Rigdon of GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilton Allen in 1982, her parents, and two sisters, Betty Jane Steigerwald and Gwyneth Price, both of CA.
