Theresa Gertrude (Hamric) Crowell

Theresa Gertrude (Hamric) Crowell, 73 of Charlevoix,  Michigan, passed away at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital on April 24, 2024.

The daughter of Harold and Vivian (Patterson) Hamric, Theresa was born on July 20,1950 in Tarrant Texas. She grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In 1967, she married Charles Larry Corwell Sr. in Jefferson County, Alabama. Together they raised nine children. They lived together in Guntersville, Alabama, New Hope, Alabama, and eventually settled in Horton Bay Michigan.

Theresa was a full-time homemaker, raising all nine of her children. She was very involved in her Church and in her later years worked as a caregiver at WinterLake.

She enjoyed being with her family, planting flowers and watching hummingbirds on her property.

Theresa was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church for over 20 years where she humbly served on the church board for many of those years. She surrounded herself in God's word, loved communion, reading her bible, and giving godly advice. She was a woman of faith, even in her darkest battles with sickness she exuded boundless levels of faith and joy.

Theresa was a victorious, loving, joyful, warm, strong, and humble woman. She was a beacon of strength and the epitome of unconditional love. Theresa always without fail knew how to make each child feel like they were her favorite. Her home was always open to anyone in need.

Theresa is survived by her children Lisa (Pete Sobleski) Whitaker, Tracy (Jose) Gomez, Charles Larry (Natalee) Crowell Jr, Chaplin Thomas (Monika) Crowell, Bradford Crowell, Christopher (Billie) Crowell, David (Joelean) Crowell, Kayla (Matt) Emig, Jessica (Jason) Hocquard. Her 30 grandchildren: Rebecca, Kaity, Levi, Michael, Tyler, Ashley, Amber, Arin, Canaan, Kaleb, Allysa, Britney, Angelica, Brady, Victor, Cheyenne, Savanna, Jacob, Charlie, Kiersten, Christopher, Shane, Sara, Felicia, Josie, Jordan, Kian, Dominick, Zack, and Bella. Her 20 great grandchildren; Pastor Paul (Suzanne) Wise; The Mills Family; George and Florance Stroyan; Pete and Patty Aronson; and her entire Trinity Fellowship Church family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Larry Crowell, Sr.; her parents Harold and Vivian Hamric; her great-grandchild Ezra Richard Donah; her brothers and sister, Pistol; Buddy; Gene; and Katie. Her grandchildren, Felica; Liam; Jordan; Dakota; Taylor; Bear.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for unexpected funeral expenses. Anything additional will be donated to her church Trinity Fellowship.

The Celebration (funeral) Service for Theresa Crowell will be officiated by Pastor Paul Wise at the Trinity Fellowship Church on May 1,2024, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the burial will follow immediately after the service at the Undine Cemetery.
