Theresa Irene (Arnold) Kitchen

Theresa “Terri” Kitchen, 81, of Cheboygan, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at McLaren Hospital in Petoskey.

Terri was born in De Land, Florida, on June 11, 1944. She spent her younger years in Florida before moving to Cheboygan. Terri attended Cheboygan Area High School, where she met and married Elmer Kitchen on July 28, 1962.

She worked for many years at Procter & Gamble and later at Kmart before retiring. Terri was very active with local Boy Scout troops while her sons were growing up.

She enjoyed watching birds at home and especially loved cardinals and hummingbirds. She would always let her dear friend Rochelle know when it was time to put out the hummingbird feeders. Terri also enjoyed gardening and horses. Her biggest joy was her dog, Emma. She looked forward each week to her Saturday date nights with Phyllis and Conrad, her very special friends.

Terri is survived by her siblings, Martha (James) Bush and Wiley (Jackie) Arnold; her sons, Jerald, James, and Joseph; six grandchildren, Kendra (Peter), Jeremy, Kayla, Blake, Belinda (Jaynie), and Brittany (David), who knew her as Grandma Reesa and cherished her famous cookies and banana bread; her special niece, Sandra Kitchen, and Sandra’s children, Courtney, Austin, Coty, and Tyler, along with numerous other beloved nieces and nephews; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Kendall-Marie, Theo, Jayce, Marlie, and Sawyer; her daughters-in-law, Pattie, Candance, and Tania; and her beloved dogs, Emma, Bolt, and Paris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Kitchen; son, Jeffery Kitchen; brother, Harold Arnold; and her parents, Russel and Nancy Arnold.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Nordman-Christian Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 6:00pm with a service to follow at 7:00pm.
