Thomas Foster Obituary

Thomas A. Foster, 80, of Levering, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on January 30, 2024.

Tom was born on October 20, 1943 in Adrian, MI, the son of Marcellus and Martha “Agnes” (Harvey) Foster and was also raised in Adrian.

On June 2, 1962, Thomas married the love of his life and the woman he would be married to for the next 61 years, Sandra Bennett and the two made their home in Adrian.  Initially, Tom worked in Swanton, OH, until going to work for General Motors at the Fisher Body Plant in Tecumseh, MI and later the Hydramatic Plant in Toledo, OH.   Tom continued to work for GM for the next 30 years, retiring in 1996 and moving to Levering where he and Sandy built a home.  Tom and Sandy then started a farm where they raised Alpacas, Llamas, goats, and various fowl.

Tom enjoyed reading and watching westerns and NASCAR, hunting, and bonfires, however his greatest joy was his family. He treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved when they would stay at the farm during their visits.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; 2 children, Cynthia (Cindi) Moran and Thomas (Tom) (Tiffany Smith) Foster; grandchildren, Tyler (Brittany) Moran, Ryan (Miranda McIntee) Moran, Jacob (Kristin) Moran, Amanda Foster-Bagley, Joshua Foster, Kayla (Justin) Foster, Savannah Smith, Janeana (Jordan) Sowers, Janessa Hutson, and Jada (Matt) Brooks; great-grandchildren, Atreyu, Atticus, Emma, Isabell, Charlie, Silas, Noah, Sadie, Tucker, Reggie, Lily, Lola, Skylar, Blaydon, Avery, Kynlee, and Kensley; and by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Armour Jacob; son-in-law, Dennis Moran; grandson, Robert “Bobby” Moran; and by his siblings, Betty (Clark) Powers, Patricia (Herb) Robison, Jack Foster, and Norma (Gary) Sears.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at the family farm in Levering late Spring/early Summer and will be announced.
