Thomas R Spooner

Thomas R. Spooner passed peacefully on March 13, 2023 in Harbor Springs, MI.   He was a very loving and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who have known him.  Tom had an infectious smile and truly loved life. He loved and so appreciated his family time, sports of all kinds, his friends and exploring new travels. 

He was a very well-respected ENT physician for 40 years and was very devoted to his profession. He taught many medical students and surgical residents the joy of his specialty.

He was very proud of his service in the Navy, where he learned to fly the T-28 Trojan and earned his Naval Flight Surgeon wings. He served as the flight surgeon for the A-3 and F-4 squadron at the Naval Air Station Sanford in Orlando, FL, before being honorably discharged.

Tom was preceded in death by his son, Chad, his brother, Denny, and his parents Russ and Lorraine.   He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; his wonderful children:  Jeff (Heidi) Spooner; Kelly (Pete) Lombardi and Megan Spooner; and also. his dear grandchildren - Andrew, Katie, Isaac and Irelyn.

Celebration of his life will be planned by family at a later date.
