Thomas (Bud) Gordon Jackson passed away on August 5, 2022.
He was born in Mt Pleasant, MI to Margaret Ann (Gaudard) & Thomas Gordon Jackson. A beloved father, grandfather, & renowned golfer. The Northern Michigan community knew him as a realtor & the man whose office was the green.
Bud attended Sacred Heart in Mt Pleasant. MI transferring to the local High School for athletic dreams. After attending Ferris State University golf program for college, he moved to Clearwater, Florida to play semi-pro golf. In 1964, just short of joining the pro circuit, he was drafted into the Army. The beginning of his military career consisted of playing on the Army golf team until he was sent to DeNang where he captained a lark and drove Jeep for the Colonel.
After the war Bud married Bonnie Foltz. They moved from Mt. Pleasant to Walloon Lake in 1971 and raised four daughters, all survive him and his son in law. Colleen (Jackson) Ben DeLisi, Tera Jackson, Bonnie Fahoome, & Stefanie Jackson-Haugen. His children and grandchildren remember him as a loveable father, light-hearted friend, and gifted athlete.
He is survived by: Bonnie Foltz, four daughters, and six grandchildren; Erich, Alexandra, SaRa & (Maxwell) Cobb, Hannah, Dakota, & Jackson. As well as his sister & brother-in-law Mary Jane & Ray Benaske, brother Jeff Jackson, cousin (like a brother) Pat Gaudard, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many life-long friends.
A visitation from 4-5:30 and sharing of memories from 5:30-7pm will be held at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City on Thursday August 11th with dinner and drinks to follow at 7:30 PM at the Springbrook Golf Club, 6151 Springvale Road, Boyne Falls, MI 49713
