Tristan Joel Sierzputowski

Tristan Sierzputowski died Friday morning, March 10, 2023, at his home in Petoskey, Michigan, after a prolonged illness.

Tristan was preceded in death by his mother Shirley (Graham) Sierzputowski, father Joseph Sierzputowski, and son Tristan Jr.

He is survived by his wife Sharon (Lyons) Sierzputowski; daughter Trista Putnam of Grayling, MI; grandsons Joseph Paone of Denver, CO. and Vincent Paone of Petoskey, MI.; brothers, Mike Sierz of Douglas, WY. and Mark Sierzputowski of Lake Ann, MI.; sisters Dessie Jane Beaver of Kingsley, MI. and Janice Hineline of Howard City, MI.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Tristan was born at home in Kent City, Michigan. He attended school in Conklin, Ravenna, and Kenowa Hills. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1962 and retired from military service in 1986. He spent many years stationed along the Michigan coastline at Charlevoix, Muskegon, Frankfort, Ludington and Presque Isle light house. He was also stationed at Port Aransas, Texas, on the USCG Cutter Point Baker, Long Island, New York, at Life-boat station Montauk and USCG Support Center Kodiak Alaska. He met and married his wife Sharon while stationed at the Charlevoix lifeboat station on May 14, 1966. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, boating, bowling, and golf.

A funeral service will be held at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey, MI on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 2:00 pm, with visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Pastor Jonathan Mays of Greensky Hill will officiate.

A luncheon will follow at LTBB Odawa Government Center at 7500 Odawa Circle, Harbor Springs, MI 49740.
