Troy Michael Taylor, 52, of Boyne City, died January 15, 2021.
Troy was born on March 13, 1968, the son of Ursula (Balk) and Tyron Taylor. He grew up in Bay City and Sebewaing, Michigan and graduated from High School in Pinconning.
After high school, Troy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country from 1986 until his honorable discharge in 1988.
That same year, Troy became a father with the birth of his son, Zachary.
For the last 15 years, he has owned and operated Troy’s M-75 Service Center in Boyne City. Many members of the community trusted him with their vehicles because they knew he was an extremely hard worker and always fair. Troy was a true “motor head” and loved working on all kinds of trucks, cars and motorcycles. When he found time to get away from the shop, he was usually hunting or fishing.
Troy had a reputation for putting on a tough exterior but truthfully he was very generous and will be remembered for always helping and lending a hand to those in need.
He is survived by his father and step-mother Tyrone (Sandra) Taylor of Sebewaing, Michigan; son, Zachary (Megan Cody) Lupo of Twining, Michigan; surrogate daughter Haley Welch; grandson, Hunter Lupo; siblings, Tina (Jeremy) Hartwick, Steven (Dawn) Taylor, Dawn (Greg) Mayer, and Robert Johns; close friend, Amanda Deater of Cheboygan; and his beloved dogs, Bolt and Saddie.
He is preceded in death by his mother Ursula.
His family is planning to have a memorial gathering in Spring 2021 when everyone will be able to gather outside and remember him in the way he liked best.
Stackus Funeral Home is caring for his arrangements.
