Vivian Leazier Obituary

Vivian Leazier, 85, of Boyne Falls, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 10, 2025, exactly 19 years to the day after the passing of her beloved husband.
Vivian was born on November 3, 1939, in Evart, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Alma (Bilky) Vallad. She grew up in Evart before moving to Onaway, Michigan.
On June 15, 1957, she married the love of her life, Purl C. Leazier. Together they raised five wonderful children, whom they loved endlessly. Vivian worked off and on throughout her life at various places including factories, Montgomery Ward, and Burger King. She mostly devoted her life to being a homemaker and caregiver for her family.
Vivian’s greatest joy was her family. Anyone who knew her knew that family always came first. She had a kind heart and would help anyone in need. She enjoyed camping, yard sales, planning parties, traveling to Florida, going on cruises, and visiting the casino.
She was lovingly known by many as “Mom,” “Granny,” and “Aunt Bib.” Over the years, she opened her heart and home to countless nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and even “adopted” family members who cherished her deeply. Two special young people she proudly helped through high school graduation were Keisha Tompkins and Dakota Mosley. Vivian was truly loved by everyone whose lives she touched.
Vivian is survived by her brother Arden Vallad; son-in-law Butch Turnbull of Boyne Falls; and her children Yvonne (Gary) Rose of Crystal River, FL, Chuck (Janet) Leazier of Charlevoix, Beth (Mark) Poole of Naples, FL, and Purl Leazier of Boyne City.
She also leaves behind many grandchildren: Derek Turnbull, Georgia (Derek) Maschino, Leeshell (Conan) Hawke, Lauren Brauer (Mike Miner), Kayla (Mitch) Coates, April Poole, Kylee (Bobby) Ciullo, Mark (Candace) Poole, Taylor (Ryan) Leazier, Jacob Leazier,  and Raygen (Max) Leazier.
Her great-grandchildren include Kaylee (Trey) Turnbull, Chanler Turnbull, Bizzy (Ryan) Turnbull, DJ Turnbull, Madisyn Hawke, Sasha Menjivar, Sophia Coates, Lucas Moen, Mattie Moen, Abagail Coates, Gabrielle Menjivar, Jovianna Menjivar, Morgan Brauer, Haylee Jo Maschino, Connor Ciullo, Liam Conrad, Nicholas Brauer, Caden Turnbull, Logan Hawke, Angelynna Maschino, Brooke Ciullo, Camden Turnbull, Savina Vega, and Grayson Poole.
She also had one great-great-grandchild, Amira Ward, and many others who lovingly called her family, including Andrea Geldner, Alyssah Turnbull and Zachary Kilbarger, as well as three special people, Cindy Hess, Keisha Tompkins, and Dakota Mosley.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Purl C. Leazier; granddaughter Chelsie Leazier; daughter Vivian Turnbull; brothers Richard, Harold, and Edsel Vallad; and sisters Faith Lawson, Naomi Baker, and Sharon (Bob) Kuzmik; as well as stepbrothers, stepsisters, and stepfathers.
