Vivian Jane (Ecker) Sova passed away unexpectedly from the coronavirus at the age of 74 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital, Petoskey surrounded by her family. Although her time here on earth may have been taken too soon, she has been prepared for this day her whole life and we are grateful she is now at peace with our Lord.
Vivian was born January 11, 1948 to Adelor and Mazella (LaBrosse) Sova. She has been a lifelong resident of Cheboygan, Michigan where many of her surviving family still reside. Vivian leaves behind three loving children; Brian (Tara) Ecker, Jeff (Cara) Ecker, and Heather (Chad Bishop) Ecker. Her siblings include; Rosemary (Bruce) Gauthier, Minyon (George) Wheelock, Greg (Patricia) Sova, and David (Kendra) Sova. She will be missed by her seven adoring grandchildren: Isabella, Nola, Sophie, Beau, Hugh, Violet, and Drew. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Wayne and Philip Sova.
Vivian graduated from the Catholic High School in 1966 and moved on to earn a degree from Alpena Community College with a concentration in Art, English, and History which is shown in her love for painting, gardening, reading, and journaling.
Vivian raised a family with James Ecker in Topinabee where she worked for the United States Postal Service. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren in retirement. She also cherished her time with friends and members of her local prayer group.
Vivian will be remembered with a memorial service at Nordman-Christian Funeral Home, Cheboygan on June 18, 2022 at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow after the service. Condolences and remembrances can be made to the family at 408 S. Western Avenue, Cheboygan, MI 49721.
