William James Anderson, 53 of Indian River passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2025. Billy was born on April 16, 1972 in Royal Oak, MI, the son of William and Joyce Anderson. He grew up in Indian River and attended school at Inland Lakes High School. On July 1, 1995, he married Sherry Goebel in Indian River. Billy was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and any other activity that allowed him to be in the woods. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was an enthusiast of the Three Stoogies, dubbed with the nickname “Curly” by family and friends. Billy could fill any room with light and laughter. He had a strong penchant for joking and playing around that will not be soon forgotten by all who knew him.
Billy is survived by his wife Sherry Anderson, children Brooke (Lane) Anderson, Travis Anderson, and Ryan Anderson, grandchildren Ellie McMullen and Paisley McMullen. He is also survived by his mother Joyce Anderson, brother Curtis (Heather) Anderson and sister Tina (Rob) Peterman, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father William Anderson Sr. and Gramps and Granny.

A memorial service for William will take place on September 27th, 2025 at 2pm at the Little Bear Cottage at Hideaway Lodge in Indian River.
