William Charles Beyer

William (Bill) Charles Beyer, 87, of Indian River died Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home.  Bill was born February 3, 1935 in Flint, Michigan.  He graduated from Flint Technical High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Michigan State University. Bill worked as an engineer for A/C Spark Plug, the Boeing Corp., and the Ford Motor Company.

Bill married the love of his life, Janet Irene Hyatt on August 7, 1954. They made their home in Fenton, MI. where they raised four children; Gregory (Lori) Beyer, Elizabeth (Steve Morse) Beyer, Jeffrey (Sharon) Beyer, and Charles (Amy) Beyer. Bill adored his grandchildren Matt, Abbe, Max, Cole, Billy, Daniel, Emily, and Joe, and his three great-granddaughters Annabelle, Madeline, and Elizabeth.  Bill was predeceased by his wife Janet, parents Florence and Joseph, his brothers Tom and Joe, and his grandson Alec Beyer.

Bill had a large and loving circle of family and friends. He had an adventurous and independent spirit reflected in the many interests he had including photography, aviation, and all things outdoors.  He especially enjoyed being a member of the Indian River Sportsman’s Club.

A service in his honor will be held at Swartz Funeral Home in Grand Blanc, MI, on December 10, 2022.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow.  In lieu of flowers donations in his honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
